I came across a video which was
about dopamine. The idea is that it is impossible to do a dopamine detox
because doapmine is essential to our neurochemistry. We can’t function
without it. Instead of dopamine detox resetting the dopamine cycle to normal settings
will enable you to do your daily tasks again. One comment
summarized it so well that I wrote it in my diary (with some
modifications).
- Take boring breaks. (The breaks should not be more dopamine inducing
than your main work.)
- Take control of “in-between” moments in your daily life where you
take out your phone for a quick hit and replace it with something
boring.
- Do one thing at a time. If you are eating, just eat, don’t listen to
music or start an intellectual discussion. If you are cooking, just cook
without listening to any kind of music.
